It’s no secret that Chevrolet has been prepping the all-new 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 for its next-generation launch, and we can’t wait to welcome it here at Frederick Chevrolet. Not much information about the new Silverado has been made public, but here’s what we’ve found out so far.
The Chevrolet Silverado 1500 will feature eight trims in its model lineup, split into three groups: High Value, High Volume, and High Features. The High Value trims are Work Truck, Custom, and Custom Trailboss; the High Volume models are LT, RST, and LT Trailboss; and the High Features trims are the luxurious LTZ and High Country models.
The all-new Chevrolet Silverado will come with a whopping five engine options. The three High Value trims will come standard with a base-level 285-horsepower V6 engine and an available 355-horsepower 5.3-liter V8. The LT and RST models will have a standard turbo-four that delivers 310 horsepower under the hood with the option of the 5.3-liter V8 or a new turbo-diesel. The LT Trail Boss only offers the 5.3-liter V8. The LTZ and High Country both come standard with the 5.3-liter engine but offer the turbo-diesel and an available 6.2-liter V8 that cranks out 420 horsepower. No specs are yet available for the diesel engine.
The all-new Chevrolet Silverado will be more lightweight, dropping 450 pounds thanks to a mixed-materials approach to its construction. A more aerodynamic design for better efficiency and longer wheelbase are also traits to look forward to.
