Captain America Camaro

Robert Downey Jr. Commissions Captain America Camaro for Co-Star

For the past decade, the movie world has brought our favorite comic book heroes and villains to life on the big screen. One of the most iconic modern franchises has been the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This started back in 2008 with the release of Iron Man, starring Robert Downey Jr.

Over the next 10 years, the cast of characters has grown to include heroes like Black Panther, Hulk, Captain Marvel, Thor, and Captain America. Recently, Downey Jr. wanted to show his appreciation for co-star Chris Evans with a Captain America Camaro.

This customized model was specifically chosen by Downey Jr., who played a big role in picking the colors, materials, and features found in the car. And, just like Captain America himself, the Camaro is an old classic turned modern.

The project started with a 1967 Chevrolet Camaro, which has a somewhat patriotic feel without going overboard. Instead of a star-spangled red, white, and blue color scheme, Speedkore, the shop that did the custom job, went for a grey-green hue, which they called “Melted Army Man Green.”

Inside, the steering wheel is designed to look like Captain America’s shield and the leather has hints of the leather jacket he wore in Captain America: The First Avenger. The car was modernized even more with the addition of a touch-screen system.

While we don’t have this sweet ride here at Frederick Chevrolet, we do have the standard Chevy Camaro available for you to customize on your own. Visit us and see what awesome things you can imagine for your next new vehicle!
